Sears Holdings Names President of Retail Services Business Unit
Deidra Cheeks Merriwether to Lead Retail Services for Kmart and Sears
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Holdings (Nasdaq: SHLD) announced today that Deidra Cheeks Merriwether has been promoted to SVP and president - Retail Services succeeding James H. Haworth who will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Merriwether will be responsible for the oversight and leadership of retail services for all Kmart and Sears stores.
Merriwether started with Sears Holdings in 2001 as director, IT Finance and Global Capital Planning for Kmart and has risen quickly through the company - holding roles of increasing responsibility within real estate, procurement and finance. Merriwether most recently served as SVP, procurement and finance. She also serves as a member of Sears Canada's board of directors and is the executive sponsor of the company's African American Associate Network.

Merriwether earned an MBA in finance and operations management from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
