Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced that Robert P. Woodard, 46, has joined Kmart as Vice President, Consumer and Market Research reporting directly to Brent Willis, Kmart's Chief Marketing Officer. In this new position, Woodard will be responsible for integrating consumer and market intelligence across various functions.
"Bob Woodard brings 20 years of consumer goods marketing research and strategic planning expertise that will be instrumental as Kmart collects consumer marketplace intelligence to build a new, powerful bond with our customers," said Willis. "His proven capabilities for discovering consumer insights in various contexts and in differing cultures make him a valuable member of the marketing team as we communicate with our customer in new, exciting ways."
A nine-year Coca-Cola marketing veteran, Woodard most recently served as Director of Marketing Research for Coca-Cola Latin America Group. He also served as Director of Marketing Research for Coca-Cola's Southern Africa Division and Africa Group Sector Research Manager. Before joining the international group, he served as Director, Strategic Planning and Analysis for North America Operations and Group Manager, Marketplace Analysis for Coca- Cola's USA Marketing Research Department.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Woodard held marketing positions with Frito- Lay, Inc. and the Ford Motor Company. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University and an MBA from Ohio State University.
