Kmart Names New Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced that Janet G. Kelley has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately. Reporting directly to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer David Rots, Kelley will be responsible for the company's Legal Department, which includes the following divisions: Commercial Law; Employment and Environmental Law; Intellectual Property; and Trade Regulation.

"Janet Kelley has practiced law and managed the legal function 'in-house' in both the retail and manufacturing sectors and has significant private practice experience, bringing well-rounded and substantive legal expertise to Kmart which will serve the company well," said Rots.

Kelley joins Kmart from The Limited, Inc. where she served as Vice President and Senior Counsel. Prior to joining The Limited she served as Vice President and General Counsel for Sunbeam Corporation. Previously, Kelley was a partner at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs.
