Sears, Roebuck and Co. today announced total domestic store revenues for the four weeks ending August 4, 2001 were $2.0 billion, a 2.5 percent decrease compared to the four weeks ending August 5, 2000. Comparable domestic store revenues decreased 3.0 percent.
"July was another challenging month as the retail environment continues to be difficult," said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alan J. Lacy. "In full-line stores, strong sales increases in appliances were more than offset by decreases across most other categories. Sears Automotive Group and The Great Indoors also posted strong sales increases."
