Sears On State Showcases Celebrity Signed Chairs
Chairs Make State Street Debut From October 12 Through November 5 to Benefit

WHAT: Sears on State will display 16 one-of-a-kind chairs signed by
local and national celebrities in its State Street store
windows. The chairs, among more than 100 others, will be
auctioned at the 12th annual Celebrity Charity Chair Auction on
November 15. Proceeds will benefit five local charities
including: Chicago Children's Advocacy Center, Chicago Coalition
for the Homeless, Chicago Communities in Schools, The Children's
Place Association and the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation.
Sears on State Downtown Neighborhood Campaign is the presenting
sponsor of the event.
The Celebrity Charity Chair Auction will take place
November 15, 2001, from 6-10 p.m. in the Gold Coast Room at
The Drake Hotel. The focal point of the evening is the live and
silent auction of the celebrity chairs. Ticket price is $80.

Bozo the Clown, Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Mel Brooks,
Ray Charles, Mayor Richard M. Daley, Duran Duran,
Michael Jordan, Ann Landers, Regis Philbin, Penn and Teller,
Yo Yo Ma, Barry Manilow, The Rock, Sammy Sosa and Frank Gehry's
Chair for Knoll Studio.
