Lands' End Holiday Fashion Makeover Contest Will Award Five Lucky Winners New Wardrobes
Know someone who continues to wear clothes that need to be retired? Sport clothes that pinch more than they used to, contorting their bodies and tax their breathing abilities beyond what's reasonable in the hopes of looking good?
If the clothes family and friends wear make you cringe, Lands' End, one of the world's leading direct merchants, just may have the perfect holiday contest for you.
The "Lands' End Holiday Fashion Makeover Contest" will give five lucky winners a chance to sport a new wardrobe just in time for the holidays. Lands' End offers classic casual apparel for men, women and kids, including coats, blazers, shirts, knit tops, blouses and shoes in petite and plus sizes, and everything in between.
Entrants must compose a maximum 50-word essay explaining why someone they know deserves a Lands' End makeover. Entries must be submitted, along with a photo of their candidate, online through http://www.blackvoices.com/landsendmakeover, the top-rated African American- interest Web site, or via the U.S. mail. Once the entries are evaluated, five winners will be selected on or around December 18. Each will receive a $500 Lands' End gift certificate to spend as they wish.
"The Lands' End Holiday Fashion Makeover Contest is another way of bringing the spirit of the season to our customers," said Sid Mashburn, Lands' End vice president of design. "Lands' End offers the high-quality, durable clothing essentials that we feel achieve the ideal blend of variety and value for our customers."
Lands' End is the largest seller of apparel online via its award-winning Web site, http://www.landsend.com/. The company has long been recognized as the leader in developing new ways to enrich the shopping experience and foster one-on-one relationships with its customers.
For example, Lands' End was the first apparel company to offer "My Virtual Modelâ„¢," an innovative shopping tool that allows shoppers to create an online version of themselves by providing certain measurements, which are then used to create a personal 3-D Virtual Model. Once a Virtual Model is created, the customer can use it to "try on" items and outfits to see how they will look on his or her body. Outfits can be stored and recalled for later reference, used at other apparel Web sites in the "My Virtual Model" network, and e-mailed to family and friends.
