OSH Now Selling Appliances in Four Stores

OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware), a subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S), is now selling the nation's top six major appliance brands at four stores:

  --  Fremont - 5130 Mowry Ave, Fremont
  --  East Modesto - 1800 Oakdale Rd. Suite A, Modesto
  --  Burbank - 641 N. Victory Blvd., Burbank
  --  Long Beach - 4480 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach

These four OSH stores now sell the top six appliance brands: Amana, GE, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Maytag and Whirlpool. The four OSH stores offer access to 3,000 appliance models, including many models that can be purchased and taken home the same day. Major appliances sold at the OSH stores include: Refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, freezers, countertop microwaves, over-the-range microwaves and washers.

We think this adds convenience for our customers who may not live near a Sears full-line store and is consistent with Sears' plans to grow through off-mall and specialty locations." Initial feedback and results from the four pilot stores indicate major appliances are a good fit with OSH customers as well.

OSH continues to offer its deep selection in core merchandise categories: Hardware; tools and accessories; electrical; housewares; plumbing; paint and paint-related products; patio, yard, garden and nursery products as well as outdoor storage. This holiday season, OSH also will offer an expanded Christmas holiday trim shop; an enhanced tool gift assortment; new gift categories like home electronics and indoor game tables; and a cut Christmas tree lot in every store.
