Kmart Launches Redesigned Website

Newly designed Kmart.com site emphasizes superior eCommerce shopping experience

Kmart Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: KMRT) today announced the re-launch of its eCommerce experience, kmart.com. Arriving just in time for holiday shopping, the completely overhauled site offers a user-friendly interface, with easy navigation, a superior search function, as well as diversified product assortments spanning across all categories.

Online shoppers will immediately recognize the improved page organization and the fresh use of graphics and colors throughout the site. The addition of brand shops like Martha Stewart Everyday, Thalia Sodi, Jaclyn Smith, and Route 66 increases the online focus of Kmart exclusive brands and introduces a new partnership with Martha Stewart Flowers. Merchandise selection has been improved, including the addition of a wider assortment of apparel.

During their visit, customers will find new online buying guides to assist in choosing their merchandise. Buying "how-to's" on everything from jewelry to digital cameras are outlined by industry experts to ease in customer purchases. Industry terms are defined, as well as tips offered on how to make the appropriate purchase for customer's specific needs.

"The reinvented kmart.com site offers customers the ability to simply shop online for their favorite Kmart brands," said Karen Austin, President for kmart.com and Chief Information Officer. "With a fresh, clean site, superior navigation, simple buying guides and improved merchandise selection, shoppers can easily purchase online the merchandise they know and love from their traditional Kmart 'bricks and mortar' stores."

In addition to purchasing online, shoppers have the ability to browse the weekly store circular in an easy-to-use online format. Customers can purchase select items online directly from the circular, or create a store shopping list based on items listed in their circular.

Designed to give customers greater flexibility and control over the shopping experience, the new kmart.com features superior and insightful search and browsing capabilities. Shoppers searching for products will see all relevant matches along with a variety of related, browseable product characteristics like brand, department, price range and more. By selecting the options most important to their unique needs, shoppers can quickly and easily find the most desirable products from the hundreds of thousands of options available.

In conjunction with the re-launch of the site, kmart.com is offering customers the chance to "Win Your Holiday Wish List." Shoppers can register now through December 24, to win up to $500 in kmart.com merchandise. One lucky shopper will be chosen daily.

"With the "Win Your Holiday Wish List" contest, we are inviting our customers to browse the improved site, choosing products along the way that they wish for this holiday season," said Karen Leever, Divisional Vice President of eCommerce at Kmart. "We want customers to check out the entire redesigned site, while giving select lucky shoppers the ultimate in holiday cheer: free merchandise."

The site was designed and built by Fry, Inc. in collaboration with the eCommerce team at Kmart. Fulfillment is provided by NewRoads. Search and browse capabilities powered by Endeca. Commerce Hub partners for drop-ship management.
