Newsweek’s Top 100 Large “Green” US Companies - 2011
Sears Holdings was listed on Newsweek's Top 100 Large "Green" US Companies. Ranked at number 95 (overall) and the number eight retailer, this year's placements show significant improvements over last year's rankings of 206 and 24, respectively. The Newsweek green rankings are derived from three criteria: An environmental impact score, which is a comprehensive and standardized measurement of the overall environmental footprint of a company's global operations; an environmental management score, which measures the quality of each company's environmental policies, programs, targets and initiatives on the basis of their operations, suppliers and contractors; and an environmental disclosure score, which reflects the quality of a company's sustainability reporting and involvement on key initiatives such as carbon disclosure.
