Kmart Pharmacy Hosts Flu Clinics

Get Protected this Season by Visiting your Local Kmart Pharmacy to Receive a Flu Shot

Kmart pharmacy today announced its walk-in flu clinics will open on October 2, 2008 and run through November 13, 2008.

"Flu season begins in November and can last until May. The Center for Disease Control says the single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each Fall and Kmart wants to encourage our customers to protect themselves by offering over 900 pharmacist-based and 400 nurse-based clinics in pharmacy and non-pharmacy locations throughout the country," said Mark Doerr, RPh, vice president of Kmart Pharmacy.

Flu shots from the pharmacy are available for $25 and pneumonia shots are $50 while supplies last. Customers can call 1-800-822-8345 to find the date and time of a flu clinic at their closest Kmart pharmacy location.

The flu is a viral infection in the nose, throat and lungs. Those age 65 yeas and older and persons of any age with chronic medical conditions are at highest risk for serious complications caused by the flu.
