Holiday Savings Continue As Kmart Offers Deep Discounts For Last Minute Shoppers

With only seven shopping days left until Christmas, and only eight percent of shoppers finished with their holiday shopping*, plenty of consumers will still be busy filling their holiday shopping baskets this year. Thanks to Kmart, last minute shoppers won't need to fret. Kmart, today announced it's offering last minute deep discounts on some of the season's hottest holiday gifts.

"The holiday season often is stressful for shoppers. At Kmart, we're doing what we can to help alleviate some of the anxiety associated with holiday shopping and offer special last-minute prices on great gifts for the whole family," said Mark Snyder, chief marketing officer, Kmart. "We know that people are incredibly busy this time of year and Kmart's last minute deals allow our shoppers the opportunity to still take advantage of holiday savings even if they got a late start on shopping."

Last minute special pricing at Kmart is available through Dec. 24. Kmart's deals during the remaining days before Christmas give consumers a chance to take advantage and save on amazing deals they may have missed out on throughout the shopping season. Men, who tip the scales as some of the biggest procrastinators (20.7%* haven't started), and women of all ages, will find some of the season's best deals at Kmart.

Gift cards also make for great last minute gifts as more than half (54.9%**) of consumers say they'd prefer to receive a gift card or gift certificate for the holidays. Kmart gift cards make it easy to purchase, activate remotely and select from a wide range of merchandise. Recipients can choose from toys and tools to home or apparel both in-store and online at not one, but three different retailers -- Sears, Kmart and Lands' End.

      --  Up to 60% off all outerwear, all sweaters, all tops, all bottoms,
          all loungewear on sale
      --  Buy One Get One Free - Small Wonders and Wonderkids Apparel
      --  50% off kids', babies' outerwear and cold weather accessories
      --  Buy One Get One 50% off all kids' denim
      --  Over 50% off Basic Editions chenille sweaters, reg. $26.99, sale
          $12.00

Additionally, more than 90 toys have been reduced from 25% to 50% off regular retail price, including:

Last minute savings continue online late into the holiday season, as well. Kmart.com shoppers can still find extra savings with Kmart's hidden ornaments through Dec. 20. For the more than 40 percent* of last minute shoppers doing their gift buying online, hidden animated ornaments can be found throughout the Web site. One click on the holiday ornament and shoppers get an instant coupon worth an extra 10 percent off.

Shoppers can also find the latest Kmart shopping news by visiting Kmart.com. Consumers can sign up for emails that include updates on special store hours, in-store deals and online only sales to find the best value during their holiday shopping.
